Product Owner

The person responsible for maximizing the value of a product developed by a Scrum team.

Definition

In the Scrum framework, the Product Owner (PO) is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog: the ordered list of everything the development team might work on. The PO translates business goals into development work, accepts or rejects completed items, and ensures the team is always building the highest-value features.

Why it matters

A weak or absent Product Owner is one of the most common causes of delivery failure. When the PO is unclear, unavailable, or unable to make decisions, the development team fills the vacuum with assumptions. The result is work that is technically correct but misses the business goal entirely.

Our take

We embed experienced Product Owners who know how to run a backlog under real delivery pressure, not just write user stories but make hard prioritization calls that keep a team moving forward.
